No major update today.  I think I might take a week or 2 break from this.  I'm getting a bit frustrated with some of the battle engine logic for hiding / unhiding options if they haven't been learned yet.  To that end, I was also toying around a bit today with instead of having a text based menu, display the face buttons on screen with some sort of indicator as to what they do.  

So currently I have/had this:




I was quickly put this together (not sure why sometimes the full dpad shows up and others it doesn't, but here we are)



So maybe overlay background text near the buttons with command names.  I suppose I'll think about it over the next week or 2.  I'm still leaning towards text because the face buttons looks kind of bad imo, but maybe I can think of a way to improve it.  Maybe instead of that layout, do a vertical layout?  who knows...

Anyhow, more in a few weeks I'm sure!

You should check out the animated GIFs to see it in action. Maybe this can do some of your heavy lifting with the use of overlays.

Thanks!  I had actually seen that and think it has some possibilities.  I've toyed with the idea of using it for sure.  Blows my mind what some people are able to accomplish with this software!
